We’ve all been there: you’re craving a coffeehouse-worthy chai tea, but man oh man do you not feel like leaving the house. Fortunately, there’s no need to put on shoes to depart from the comfort of your home when it’s this easy to make a classic Indian sweet and spicy tea in your own kitchen. Plus, homemade chai is far more affordable when you make it yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 bags black tea
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Step

    Heat water to boiling. Add tea bags; reduce heat. Simmer 2 minutes. Remove tea bags. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling.

    Stir with wire whisk to foam milk. Pour into cups.
