Cheddar Sausage Pinwheels

All the familiar flavors of classic sausage cheese balls, now in pinwheel form. Plus, these quick and easy (not to mention cheesy) party appetizers basically make themselves, so that’s a double win.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count) or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese spread, softened (from 8-oz container)
  • 1 tablespoon honey mustard
  • 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (3 oz)
  • 1/2 cup cooked breakfast sausage, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

    Heat oven to 375°F. Spray large cooking sheet with cooking spray.

    If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate dough into 4 rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.

    In small bowl, mix cream cheese spread and honey mustard. Spread each rectangle with about 3 tablespoons cream cheese mixture. Top with cheese and sausage.

    Starting at shortest side, roll up each rectangle; pinch edges to seal. Cut each roll into 6 slices. Place cut side down, 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Brush pinwheels with melted butter.

    Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
