Chocolate Cherry Breakfast Cookies

- 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ white whole wheat flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed or flaxseed meal
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 bar (4 oz) extra bittersweet baking chocolate (70% cacao), chopped
- 3/4 cup dried tart cherries, chopped

Step1Heat oven to 350°F.

Step2In medium bowl, mix flour, oats, flax, baking soda, cinnamon and salt with whisk; set aside.

Step3In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, honey and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Beat in egg. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chocolate and cherries. Drop dough by heaping 2 tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Step4Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack.
