More About This Recipe

  • There were always two things in my fridge during my single 20 something days…a bottle of ketchup and a bottle of apple juice. Ketchup because I have an unnatural addiction to it and apple juice because it was my pre-hangover cure. After a night of partaking in one too many alcoholic beverages (don’t tell my mom) I would come home, take two over the counter migraine pills and drink one very large glass of apple juice. Worked like a charm…except for the times when I forgot to do that and would wake up in hangover city. Personally, I am a hair of the dog kind of gal–I’ve always loved a little vodka in my apple juice. But I realize that after a night of drinking the last thing you want to see is more alcohol, so I decided to make this: a non-alcoholic Coco-Ginger-Lemon Booster Shot. They say that coconut water does wonders for hydration and so I thought I would use a little of that, a touch of ginger ale for a queasy tummy, some ginger and lemon to give it a little zing. Take a few shots of this and hopefully you will be on the road to hydrated recovery. For those who are like me and need a little shot in your drink, combine my tried and true apple juice with a little vanilla vodka, ginger ale to help drive that hangover away.
