More About This Recipe

  • With a nod to French toast but a much prettier presentation, this ring is definitely brunchworthy. Are you ready for an easy to make yet oh-so impressive French toast? Cool, because I have a KILLER recipe for you today – it’s perfect for your next brunch, girl’s weekend getaway, or any occasion, really! This French Toast Brunch Ring is pretty, but it’s also simple, easy AND you can prep it the night before. Then you’re all ready to go the next morning. YES! Now that is what I call a perfect brunch recipe. Oh, and did I mention that this is made with crescent dough and stuffed with a delicious whipped cream cheese filling? I know, I know. Too good! If a ring-shape isn't your style, alternatively, you can arrange the slices of dough in a greased 9x13-inch glass baking pan. Pour the egg batter over the dough, cover and refrigerate until ready to bake (30 minutes to overnight). Bake and serve as directed. Serve the French toast ring warm with a dusting of powdered sugar, fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup if desired. Gorgeous. Now... dig in!

Instructions

  • Step
    1
Using an electric mixer, beat together the filling ingredients until whipped and fluffy.
  • Step
    2
In another clean bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
  • Step
    3
Unroll the crescent dough sheet. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the edges.
  • Step
    4
Starting with the long side of the rectangle, roll up into a log and then pinch the edges to seal.
  • Step
    5
Using a serrated knife, cut the log into 12 slices. Place the slices in a gallon-size zip-top bag or 9x13-inch glass baking pan. Pour the egg mixture over the rolls; seal the bag (or cover the pan with plastic wrap) and place in the fridge for 30 minutes or up to overnight.

When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step
    7
Remove the pastry from the fridge and arrange the slices in a circle on the prepared cookie sheet. Brush any remaining egg mixture left in the bag over the dough. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step
    8
Serve the French toast ring warm with a dusting of powdered sugar, fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup, if desired. You could also add a little whipped cream too!
