These rich chocolate cakes are filled with marshmallow cream frosting and served in mini glass jars with tiny spoons attached with pretty ribbons. They’re the perfect size dessert for a party or a bake sale! Every bite tastes like a little bit of heaven. To dress up your mini jars, use double-sided tape to attach a cute ribbon around the top lip of the jar. Leave a small opening in the taped area so you can insert a spoon between the ribbon and the jar. Your sweet little desserts are now ready to serve.

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 oz melted semi-sweet chocolate

Marshmallow Cream Frosting

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tub (13 oz) marshmallow fluff
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

    Cake:Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 16 half-pint jars with cooking spray. Line a high-rimmed baking pan with a kitchen towel and arrange the jars on top. Bring a pot of water to a boil.

    Make cake mix according to package instructions. Stir in melted chocolate. Equally divide batter among jars. Set baking sheet on middle rack in oven. Pour hot water into baking sheet, close the door, and bake cakes for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Remove cakes from water bath and allow to cool completely. Trim off the domed part of each cake. Remove a core from the center of each cake.

    Marshmallow Cream Frosting:Beat shortening and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add marshmallow fluff and vanilla extract and beat to combine. Add heavy whipping cream and beat until fluffy.

    Spoon frosting into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe frosting into the center and on top of each cake.
